Advertising & Monetization Policy
How CheckThatCall displays advertisements, protects user experience, and complies with Google AdSense program policies.
Last updated: June 20, 2026
Overview
CheckThatCall is free to use and supported in part by display advertising through Google AdSense. We follow Google's publisher policies and only place ads on pages that provide substantive, original value to visitors.
Where ads may appear
- Homepage — after editorial sections (how it works, FAQ, and directory introduction).
- Phone number pages — only when the listing has at least 2 community reports, 2+ searches, is eligible for search indexing, and includes at least ~200 words of generated summary content, safety tips, and FAQ.
- At most one display ad unit per page — we do not stack multiple units on programmatic directory pages.
Where ads never appear
- Privacy Policy, Terms, Disclaimer, Legal Notice, and other legal pages.
- Contact, About, Community Guidelines, and Content Removal pages.
- Phone listings with zero or one community report (search-only stubs).
- Numbers not yet in our directory or marked noindex.
- Pages before you accept cookies (where consent is required).
Content quality standards
Automated phone directory pages can create “thin content” if every lookup instantly becomes a monetized URL. We prevent this technically: our sitemap, indexing rules, and ad eligibility checks use separate thresholds. A page may be discoverable in search only after community activity, while ads require stricter report and content minimums. See About — How our data works for details.
Advertiser responsibility
Google and its advertising partners are responsible for the content of ads served through AdSense. If you believe an ad is misleading or violates policies, use Google's ad feedback tools or contact us at contact@checkthatcall.com.
Changes
We may update this policy as our service or advertising partners change. Material updates will be reflected on this page (https://www.checkthatcall.com/advertising).
